What counts as a unit on the plan?
Whatever you would schedule separately: a rooftop unit, an air handler, a pump, a vehicle. If two things are always serviced in the same visit, count them as one.
Where should the downtime figures come from?
Your own records if you have them, and your own estimate if you do not. The planner states the method beside the answer, so an estimate stays visibly an estimate rather than becoming a fact.
Does a bigger plan always cost less in breakdowns?
Not automatically, and this planner deliberately does not claim it does. It costs the plan and prices your current breakdown exposure separately; whether one moves the other is something your own records answer.
